The need for Occupational Health and Safety is to ensure that the workplace is safe for all that work together. A healthy workforce is more productive and sustainable and all levels have a role to play in ensuring that the compliance to health and safety is adhered to. An appropriate intervention is identified depending the existing systems, or setting up a new system, as well as the literacy levels of the operators and those that manage the OHS within the workplace. The program is supported with all the policies and practices that is necessary to be integrated into the technical operational systems within the workplace.
